I have a desire to keep bantams standards together, so far I have 1 Blue Dutch Bantam and that is all. I used to have 4 other bantams with her, along 7 standard hens and 1 rooster, they were all fine. The rooster would occasionally try and mate with the bantams, but when he realized he could not he stopped. I currently have all brown egg layers and I want more variety, so I am going to sell about 2/3 to 3/4 of my standard flock. I plan on replacing them. I have a coop and run to comfortably contain 16 standard size chickens. So I was wondering if it was a possibility for me to keep 8 standard hens, 1 standard rooster, 6 bantam hens, and 1 bantam rooster. I would love some advice to go about this. (I plan on executing this "trade off" in March)

The standard male will still breed with your bantam girls. I have 2 boys now that prove it's possible. But the size difference will be fine as long as they aren't seramas
So, if the standard male will still breed with them does that create a problem with having a bantam boy included.

My boy now is a Buckeye, but he is a small Buckeye, and when we were trying to hatch eggs we used 2 of the bantam's eggs and both of them were infertile, but 3 of the standard eggs hatched.

I raise bantams, the standard roo will mate with your bantams. Id have tow flocks, if you don't want medium sided chicken coming form your bantams or standards. U can have them side by side.
