Hello all,

I have 9 six week old chickens and I am getting 15 three day old chickens. I was planning on dividing the coop in half with chicken wire so they can all see each other but still be separate. The older ones will have access to the chicken run, my question is at what age can I let them all run together and will seeing each other for a few weeks get them acquainted enough so the older ones will not pick on the younger ones? I have never done this before this is my first time with chickens any help is great thanks!

With six weeks separating them I'd wait until the younger ones are at least ten weeks and are big enough to take some of the hassles that come with establishing a pecking order. Raising them next to each other will lessen the strife but there still will be some.

So do you still have your others at 6 weeks on heat? How are they both in the same coop? 3 day old chicks should have a heat source...
