I was wondering if i can mix my 12 hour old bantam chicks with my 10 day old standard chicks? I have 2 bantam chicks that hatched out 12 hours ago. Im not sure if i can mix them with the standard breed. Quit a difference in size. I would hate to see the little ones get hurt or stepped on by a bigger one.

Being that your standards are 10 days old, I wouldn't. If the bantams were the older ones, I wouldn't see a problem. I have my older banties in with my younger standards. Of course now, the standards are as big as the banties. Banties are 5 weeks, standards are 2.

I wouldn't.. Thats why I have 2 brooders set up right now, looking into making a 3rd until they can go outside in the coop.. Which is my favorite part of raising chicks I've discovered!

Well i decided to make a 3rd brooder. Seems to be the best choice. I have 6 week olds in one. 11 day olds in another and my 2 baby bantams in their own brooder. Looks like everone is happy
