I was truly honored to meet Flapper's human and then the following week to go to Seattle where we met up with more duck nuts and had a great time! You can find that in the following episode, including a video of all of us on Flapper-Cam!
I was also honored with a Flapper bite on my wrist. Ha ha ha.
The more ducks the merrier, I say. It is safer for your ducks if you have at least a 3 (ducks) to 1 (drake) ratio. 5 or 6 to 1 is better. We lost our Lucky Duck (the Cheerio catcher featured in the Flapper episode) to a gang pile of 2 scovy drakes and 3 runner drakes injuring her internally. If you keep the breeds about the same size, you can get away with a lower ratio, IMO. Or if your drakes are lightweight breeds (like runners) and your ducks are heavier breeds, like pekins, it won't be so hard on the girls.
