Mixing Ducks

Good Morning. I have a female Pekin that is now alone. The male died last week.

My neighbor has a few male malards and she would give me one. Would the two get along or do I have to get a Pekin for them to I guess become "mates" or at least friends?

Sorry to hear about your drake

How very kind of your neighbour to offer you a mallard to be a mate for your pekin; seems you prefer to just have a pair? Maybe, at some stage, you might consider getting a couple more females? I only say that because, if something happened to either your pekin, or the mallard male, you are going to be back in the same situation
