I am building a pen beside my current one for some hens to eat eggs from, because my other chickens are for breeding. I was wondering will ameracaunas, buff orpingtons, and silver wyandottes or rhode island reds go good together. Also, will any of these chickens fly over 8 feet.

I have barred rocks, white rocks, jersey giants and golden comets all living together... they dont seems to mind... my cousin has a ton of mixed up chickens together and they do just fine too! sorry I dont know about the flying height... I know my girls havent made it over 6 feet...

As far as the breeds are concerned, I'd doubt you have problems. However, if they are all different ages, you might? There would definitely be an adjustment period and you'd probably want to keep a good eye on them. As far as flying, my birds can scale a 6' fence pretty easily. Not sure about eight. Worst case you can clip their wings if you have a problem or string up some wire or hawk netting.
