I have 6 RIR hens that are 4 months old and just have started to lay. I also have six other hens that are 3 months old. They have been seperated by a wire fence for almost two months. The I tryed mixing them again tonight. The older ones just about ran the younger ones to death. What do I do???? I could butcher the older ones they were free. I paid for the younger ones. I hate to kill them since they just started laying eggs.

I has the exact issue with 10 week old and 6 week old pullets. It was tough on me for a week or two, but they worked it out themselves. I don't know if being layers will make it different.
I doubt I'd butcher just yet. As long as none are being injured, they should find their place in the pecking order, and the young ones will likely be at the bottom.
keep seperate feed and water and if possible a space for the younger ones to escape.
