The feed store in my area does not carry game bird feed in small quanties. Is there a recipe so to speak to make your own feed by mixing items? I only have 6 birds so 50 lb bags is just way to much. They bag lots of feeds in smaller quanities but not game bird. They have pigeon, chicken starter, corn, etc.

I have bobwhites.

Also do the bob and courtnix mix well?

You can mix your own feed, but I would think that it would be more efficient for such a small flock to just buy the 50#. I want to grow some of my own feed, but I have over 60 birds, so it is kind of a different story. Good Luck, and I'm interested in what other people have to say.

You'll be surprised how fast your six birds will eat 50 pounds of food. It will be gone in 5-6 weeks. More cost efficient in big bag also. Here in Las Vegas, the 50 pound bag is approx. $20. That works out to .40/pound.
