She's been communicating with the two new hens over the back fence. They're young red layers in a little coop. I haven't looked but I hope they get to roam around their backyard each day. Anyway, that neighbour is a lovely chap who I'm sure I could easily talk chickens with.

Security. It is safe to be with you. No greater gift you can give them.In my case I think it's because they know I've got food. Be lovely to think they all adore me.
There does come a point though that a bond not so food dependant can be established. Some of the hens that gather around the chair where I sit are not after food.
What exactly it is that I provide in such cases I doubt I will ever be sure of.
