I have sooo many fenced off bits around the garden. I use whatever I have to hand. Two areas are fenced off with puppy play panels. They are easier to get into (for me) than chicken wire and stakes. You're using puppy play pen panels to protect your plants! I've had a lot of success with keeping chickens on one side of puppy play pen panels. They make an cheap and effective barrier. That said, your chooks and mine are committed ground dwellers and don't fly very high or far.
They look gorgeous and like they're thriving. The sheen on Pepper is wonderful!
I have caught Alice on the "wrong" side of the barriers before. She couldn't figure out how to get out again so she came right up to the fence and let me lift her over.Mine just jump and perch on top of puppy play pens. The only work if I cover them over with chicken wire.
Pity we can't insert our own. So many of my "still photos" are actually gifs because my chooks won't stay still!I just found the gif option on byc posts. HOW did it take me so long???
oooh, noice! It’s not here yet but this is the product pic. It will go in their netted run and they are free ranging from dawn to dark atm.
