It was a big deal for Mary and for me she's very happy with life just now. Fully feathered, lots of greens in the yard because it's winter, good friends to talk to, lots of water to play with, a treat every now and than. What more could a 2 year old hen ask for?

Other hens to boss around every once in a while?

Maybe a nice hat to roost on? That seems popular every so often.

Mary's off and running now! Another egg already

I've been changing the perches a little today. I swapped a flimsy one for a strong one and I lowered the lowest one so it's easy hop up on.

It seems that there is always an improvement to be made.

Me too. She doesn't need that as well. I never like hard molts. It always seems unfair.
