MJ's little flock

That drives me absolutely nuts. When I moved in here I fired the septic engineer in the middle of the job because he continually talked down to me in a 'don't worry your pretty little head about it' sort of way.
Mostly I don't have too much trouble (particularly now I am older and I think some see me as a bit scary) but it is definitely a factor in who I select to do work.
The guys who built the Chicken Palace are a joy and a delight in that regard including not minding that I like to do some stuff myself so sometimes we would just work alongside each other.
Now the chickens on the other hand didn't have a good word to say about the work that any of us do so and are definitely equal opportunity critics!
I'm going to be exasperated about it for years. Seriously, I said No. They ignored me. What the....??

What part of No didn't they understand? The "N" or the "O"? That's when it's time to take it out of their wallet, don't pay for what they did and pay someone else to fix it. then give them the difference.

That is an adorable picture. What is the wooden frame for MJ?
It keeps some mulch around the roots of the jacaranda. Without the frame, the hens spread it out. With the frame they can still hop in and dig, but the tree's roots don't end up exposed and its soil doesn't dry out as much, which is important for a jac because they like water and will send roots out for it if they need to. So nice moist soil for the jacaranda protects the plumbing.

Exactly! I may introduce a method of tracking decisions on paper and requesting signatures. That should prevent rogue decision making.

Avocado. I HATED it as a child. No I can’t get enough. It is like I need to make up for the lost avocado years. :lau
For me, beetroot. The colour put me off until I was almost 10 when my younger cousin said, "oh I love beetroot, I'll have yours!" the next time I was given some, I tried it and I've been eating it ever since!
