MJ's little flock

Fudge. She got her appetite back thank goodness and is eating with the tribe again. I've been hand feeding her and Moon these past few days and leaving the food down for most of the afternoon. Both I've seen eating once the others have finished. Fudge has at least another week of feather growing to go I reckon.

Oh boy. Such a relief. I'm still upset that I didn't intervene sooner with Peggy.

But she was running around and taking bites out of Mary less than a week ago. She tucked into her Sunday dinner with excited noises. It's so hard to know when the vet's needed.

I'm of the view that women should be supported to take on any non-traditional work they wish. And I feel the same way about men. I know a man who's a marvellous hairdresser with 80% women clients. His work is inventive and beautiful. Another man who's the "mum" in the family because his wife makes more money to keep them all going. Biological differences don't extend as far as society thinks and we each have our own unique capabilities we should work to.

Also, on a more personal note, I have had trouble with some male tradies adopting a patronising attitude towards me. On two occasions, two different men, I've been asked "do you want x? " and I've answered a clear No. I've come home from work and x has been done to the home my great grandfather provided :he:mad:
I don't really do that support stuff. All I'm interested in is can they do the job. This particular person trains the forest rangers here in chainsaw skills. I know her through my wood carving. We got talking at one of the fairs. There's stuff I can do and stuff I can't. These two trees need to come down right and I couldn't do it.
I'm a bit odd; if I see openly gay people on the streets, prostitues not being harrased by police or public, black, yellow and brown people looking as prosperous as their white counterparts and women working on the road gangs then I'll want to live there.
You can see most of that here and in this respect Catalonia is very progressive compared to may places I've been.

That's wonderful!

Adelaide has its conservatives but they're not militant.

I've only gone and burnt my supper again. It's the fault of BYC. I'm going to send the staff my washing up!

Oh yes! Definitely. Even better, it turned out so affordable, I may be able to get better gates to keep dogs out. In which case the chickens can mooch around the entire back yard without risk of dog attack.
That's great news. I can't wait to see it.
