I think the hens are starting to appreciate the benefits of the back porch. Nice cool air flow from the aircon, icy water, noms. What more could they ask for?

I suppose a nest box in the corner wouldn't be too much to ask for

I'm hopeless at chess. I haven't the patience for it. I'd much rather open a book.

My grandfather taught me how to play chess, and he and I used to play once a week after dinner, after my grandmother died. I only ever beat him twice; the first time he pointed out the winning move, the second time was all me.

I used to. I was chess champion at my school for a couple of years. I haven't played for a long time now. The only game I still play is poker.
