It seems awful young to me. Lilly was full go at 3.

Yeh, it's sad she's so young but sometimes it happens. It's very sad but also very much part of life. I'm thinking of a friend who died at 17 as well as Janet who might get to 4 but 5 seems unlikely. I hope it goes without saying I hope she will prove me wrong.

What a problem to have. I'm looking at 2 more months of no eggs.

I've decided to have my weekend breakfast out at the local cafe next Winter. I don't want to buy eggs if I can help it.

I gave away another dozen last night, which brought the numbers down "ok, that's more like it" (15 eggs, with one empty spot in the fridge's egg rack).

Well, I've just been talking to the copper who arrested the house break-in bloke on Saturday night. Turns out he's got two nasty habits: drugs and gambling. Anyway, I didn't get a good look at his face, only his stature and hair, so they can't use me to identify him. He was last arrested in 2018. Most of his victims were elderly and sneaking through bathroom windows was his raison d'etre. In the end, they used a police dog to locate him as he hid on someone's property.

Must have been creepy for the person whose property he was hiding on.

I'm glad they caught him. That is one less worry for you.

I bet he wouldn't be very good at weeding anyway...

But that's good. Every day a hen doesn't lay an egg is one more day of life. Try looking at it like that.

I stopped using the fermented layers, it attracted these crappy flies. Since then Agatha shells have gone back to normal. So my friend you were right

I'm not sure what you are refering to Marie. I don't recal saying fermented feed has any noticable effect on egg shell quality.
