And the Barnevelder is Katie, after an elderly single lady who used to have Christmas at Nana and Pop's house. She was lovely and would sing "O tannenbaum, o tannenbaum, wie treu sind deine blätter," while Pop played the piano and the rest of us listened carefully

The pullets have eaten well and have had big drinks.

I'm going to bring in a branch for them to roost on, but although they're settling in, I expect they'll sleep in their box tonight.
