It'll be good to get them on his mind and database.Great idea.
Now you mention it, I recall you've said it before.Roosts here, where it can get very cold in the winter, are designed so that their feet are flat. This is to assure that their feet are covered by feathers when they roost in sub freezing temps. If they curl too tight around a roost their toes can stick out and suffer frost bite.
I am telling you this so that you don't worry too much about their feet being curled when they sleep. It will be fine if they sleep with them flat. Mine mostly do that all the time.
I do tend to repeat myself. Now you mention it, I recall you've said it before.
I know I feel that way. There's not much news to share today. The hens continue as usual, in the run during the day and the big coop at night, with a few hours in the garden late afternoon, except for Mary who's being a good broody. The pullets are eating, drinking, snoozing, and playing well. Right now, they're stuffing themselves with pellets then taking sips of water. There are no signs of boredom or stress. The sleepout is working well as a pullet enclosure. There's lots of fresh air and sunlight, with one dark corner for resting in. And the dander is contained to that one space.
No news is good news, right?
