MJ's little flock

After dark each night, I creep into the pullets room to pat them gently in the hope they will become tamer. Last night I stroked Edie's wattles and she closed her eyes 🥰

The other two are not quite as tame but they all like to be with me.

I've taken some awful photos in my time on byc but that one takes the cake. Sorry Katie.

Eta, a better photo.

I used to stroke Bessie at bedtime and she used to sink down into the bed and close her eyes. :love

I held Gizelle yesterday, she didn’t love it.

I suppose I could partially empty the garden hose at the misting system end and use a funnel to get a little bleach into it.

The nozzles are brass, as in proper brass without any coatings. Will the bleach and brass react in a detrimental way?
You might do better with Oxine rather than bleach if you can get it.

What a gorgeous photo. Lorna is so beautiful. She's got that enchanted creature look that Glynda also had as a pullet.
You mean this young lady? That is so sweet of you to say. 😁

I was thinking if a chicken-tall, chicken-wide basket had a removal perch, there would be an option for perching and an option for sitting. And if it a whole side opened up, it would be so easy to transfer a hen from the roost perch to the basket perch.
Yes. When taking them off the roost at night before a doctors apt, I will roost them in the dog crate. It works very well then some will roost for the car ride while others (Hattie) sit in the straw.

Yes! That's what she's doing!
It was great fun for her. Somewhere i have one of Lilly doing it to Aurora and making her fly up into the air. I swear she used to laugh. I could see her setting them up to scare them. Man I already love Ivy, now she is doing this too. She is a perfect chicken. 🥰
