5 minutes ago both Lorna and Edie ate a pinch of crust from my fingers. Katie was watching and aware of her tummy rumbles.

Yesterday afternoon I saw Mary in the pullets room, sitting down while snacking on pullet grower pellets!

Lorna must've shown her how to do it.

Also there was quite a rainstorm late afternoon. The pullets were on their perch, nice and dry, the hens were in the back porch wet on the surface of their feathers and furiously preening. The river chickens were in the laundry, also nice and dry.

Man I already love Ivy, now she is doing this too. She is a perfect chicken.

Ivy is a very special darling. I love it when she has a full crop because I know she's had enough to eat and is flourishing.
