I've just realised all 8 hens are challenging right now.

The red marauders are always disruptive.

Ivy, Mary and Peggy are moulting and cranky.

Edie is broody and upsetting everyone except Katie.

Janet is only just keeping her bacteria at bay.

Katie can't commit to roosting with the old ladies.

What a crowd! So hard to please.

Tonight Katie went all the way into the big coop and gave it due consideration before making a last minute dash for the sleepout.

If Edie stays on the nest, I agree, eventually Katie will have made enough observations to attempt a night in the big coop. Once she's had a night outdoors, I suspect she'll never go back inside.

Maybe. She also ended up being the oldest and was here first, and that would have helped.
