MJ's little flock

Maybe tonight.

I really do think she'd be happier outside but it's no reason to stress her out. She's almost transitioned on her own accord.
I was just trying to think how long it took for Henry to move into the new coop at the allotments.:D

Wasn't it more than six months? But he was very habituated to his old house, more so than Katie who's only lived in the sleepout for a few months.

It's different! Henry wasn't a shy six months old pullet having to enter an adult hen's den.
That's true too! But does it mean it's going to take her longer than Henry to move out of home? I was hoping she would manage the transition next week or the week after.

On the other hand, Edie was off the nest when I left at 8.30 this morning and off the nest when I got home at 6pm. She might not be feeling very broody any more. She still speaks with a broody's language, but she's not showing much broody behaviour. If Edie goes back to roosting in the sleepout, for sure Katie will join her.

Here's Katie in the big coop a couple of minutes before she decided to hop up onto Peggy and Ivy's roost. They were angels and simply sat quietly. She was on the roost for maybe 20 seconds before it became too much for her and she ran off into the sleepout.

Aww. So adorable. Maybe they said something that scared her.
