MJ's little flock

Good evening MJ and everyone 😊😴

I'm so sorry :hugs :hugs I hope the shot gave her some relief
It seems to have reduced the swelling enough for her to produce this lot overnight...

So that's good.

Clavulox is no stranger to half the hens, but I think it may well be Joyce's first ever dose of it because I doubt her former people, kindly though they are, would have gone to the expense. For that reason it might do her much more good than it usually does for Janet.

When she jumped out of the basket 15 minutes ago, she went straight to the food and ate with a lot of enthusiasm. I've been giving her crumbles thinking they're more likely to get through her system and also thinking when a hen's at death's door from raging EYP, nutrition is a secondary consideration.

I'm sorry for Joyce, and apologize that I have spoken without understanding fully what was going on. I'm glad however you could have a vet appointment so soon and really hope the clavulox will help. How did she take the 40 mn ride ?
It's my fault really, I'm so busy with work I hadn't described her situation in full. Also I'm a chronic under-describer at the best of times.

She was very quiet in the car, both there and back, but it was fully dark by then so she would've been sleeping or trying to sleep.

The clavulox appears to have helped her. I look forward to taking a good look at her at the chickens' dinner time this evening.

I'm happy she is doing better :hugs

If the antibiotics can get the upper hand she just might make it. It all depends now on how the EYP bacteria respond to the clavulox. Hopefully the bacteria die back so much a hysterectomy becomes viable.
I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers, that she continues to improve so that can be done 🙏🙏 :hugs :hugs
