I've heard over a phone call that Dr Mark pulled a lot of EYP infection gunk out of Joyce. He wants a chat when I pick her up (in a couple of hours time) and he wants to see her again in a week.

I hope you are not feeling too anxious with the waiting, I know I would. Well, we all know that is a most important matter for hens indeed ! Drive safe.Right now, I'm mainly worried about getting home again in time to feed the other hens.

She wanted to make sure everybody could see her wattles ok.
It is hard to find good help. Sometimes they even nap at work, right in front of you!Ugh. My PA couldn't be more uninterested in her work, illiterate, and lazy. She's literally sitting on a pile of work.

Joyce and Christa are just back from Joyce's follow up and it's not great news. Her poops have reverted to quite thin since Monday and when Mark felt her abdomen he said she hadn't improved much.
So we're trying surgery on Monday. It's a bit of a long shot, but I'd rather go for it than opt for euthanasia. There's a chance it might work out for the better, so she might as well have a go at it.
Don't be too hard on yourself. It's not as easy as people would think.Yes, that's it. It's only partially completed. It's been a disappointing project. Two steps forward, one back.
