MJ's little flock

:eek::woot

I'm not sure who laid them. Maybe Janet, maybe Katie, maybe Christa.

Joyce is not yet feathered out after her surgery, so I haven't been encouraging the marauders to sleep outside. Instead they continue to sleep in the sleepout.

However they don't like using the roosting branch that the pullets liked so much. No. They like to sleep with their two friends in the mirror who are just as friendly and chatty as the marauders are :gig

What a lovley picture.:love

@LozzyR what's the news of the chickens at your house?
All seems to be well. Snowy’s fluffy again and isn’t laying. She’s not interested in the boy’s shenanigans 🤭 and will often do her own thing. The boys half-heartedly chest-bump each other and they are all very hands-off. The zoo trio wil be around 1 in August and Snowy will be 2 in October.

How’s everyone at your place? Joyce seems to be going well. ❤️

They seem like quite tame cockerels. Are the neighbours still ok with the crowing?

I think Joyce is doing ok, although her back is warmer than Christa's to the touch, so I'm slightly worried about an infection. But in behavioural terms, she's very bright and rambunctious.

I had the same worry with Piou-piou's wound. It still feels slightly warm now even though there is no doubt it is fully healed, so I wonder if it's not just that bare chicken skin, which we rarely have access to, radiates some warmth ?

I think that makes sense.

I'm feeling warmth on Joyce's back, through her feathers and in comparison to Christa. I have one hand on one hen, the other hand on the other hen, on their backs, between their wings. Joyce is noticeably warmer.

Hopefully it doesn't mean anything.
