We have a mummy pigeon in our lemon tree.

Oh, and Angel’s broody too.

So far, so good.

✔The little coop is prepped for Christa.
✔The roosting box is drying in the warm sun - it cleaned up good as new! Later, I'll put the floor panels back and cover them with fine sand; meanwhile then hens have discovered the glory of the coolness under the roosting box and are hanging out under there.
✔I had a wonderful breakfast.
✔I found a sofa for the living room (doesn't sound like much but it has taken a long time to find the right style at the right price).

I just love a list with check marks!

Christa seems very relaxed this morning. Maybe because she woke up and found her friends not far away? Maybe because she barely slept in the little coop and now she's overtired?

I looked at the poops in the little coop and there are three that were dropped from the perch and two in the nest. So at least I know she didn't move around much overnight.

Five is not much poop. Maybe she left the coop at some wee hour and perched elsewhere? I didn't shut her in as I wanted her to have options.

Edit: I've spotted one tell-tale poop on the roost box ramp. Perhaps Christa perched there for a while?

I'll do 20 seconds next time, but it'll be a while because the other six hens have submitted requests to star in their own mini films, so I'll have to clear that backlog before I can work with Ivy again.

I also spend a lot of time wondering whose poop is that and how the heck they ended up sleeping where they did !

I suppose that's an advantage of the cameras in the coop but it's something I just can't do. To me it feels like an intrusion on their privacy even though I know that's totally anthropomorphic.

I can't quite stretch to cameras in the coop either. It's too ... I don't know, technical and out of step with essence of chickens.

On the other hand, I genuinely appreciate Bob and RC's in-coop videos.
