Yes, there’s one swooping my husband at the moment on his commute.

I shouldn't laugh, it can be serious. But I'm sure he's coping.

Speaking of swooping maggies, there's one who lives somewhere nearby and it swoops the pigeons at my house, very helpful. I like to say Thank you Magpie! every time I see it happen, in case it understands. They're very clever and I wouldn't put that level of understanding past them.

I've just learned there was a racehorse called Red Marauder! He won the Grand National.

Today marks the end of the peach season. I see one peach still on a tree but way too high to reach and I am sure it will be gone by the morning.
I gave away 20-30 pound of peaches and I have been baking nonstop.
I still have a fridge full so will keep baking a bit more.
I feel I am perfecting my technique - compare first tart of the season to the one I am about to put in the oven.
Only Piglet and the ants are still excited about peaches. Even the deer have moved on!
And now the apples are ripe!

On the subject of magpies, the family who live on our street are not swoopers (except at pigeons, for the laughs). So when one came to say hi as I ate my breakfast outside at the new picnic table I was delighted. We spent a very pleasant five minutes and I was allowed to take a photo.

Also, Janet hopped up to see if she could eat my scrambled eggs for me.

It wasn't a moment for a photo. More, a moment for shooing, lifting, and flying away.

Don’t want the maggies swooping our pigeons, but baby maggies are very cute!
