The post I just posted.Just wondering whet are you waiting for?![]()
Another update:
Some of you may be wondering about Cosette. Well, up till now I didn't know if she was getting better or worse, and I had no clue what to do and I was really worried. As you probably know already Cosette was/is going through a molt which made it even harder to tell if she was worse or better. I am happy to inform you that Cosette is NOT dead. In fact, she had an awesome recovery and I think it is safe to say she is almost done her molt and is past her days of vent gleet (if I'm not mistaken). She has fluffy butt again (I've never been so excited about a chicken's butt before haha) and is as spunky as ever!Soon she will be through her molt (right now she looks really scruffy because she is molting right at the neck.) and ready to show! I did an inspection to make sure she is completely healthy again, and aside from the molt she looks all good!![]()
I would like to thank BYC members willowbranchfarm and Sally Sunshine for giving me tips on how to get rid of vent gleet and all the people following this thread for the support. Thanks guys, your all so awesome!![]()
And there she is!![]()
On another note, here is Marius from the other coop. I tried to train him to go up the ramp to the coop to sleep with the others but he won't have it. For a few weeks a have been carrying him into the coop by himself. Man, he gets heavy after a few minutes of holding him (He is a LF Faverolle) haha. So last night I got tired of my sore arms and decided he was going to learn! So I put him on the ramp and made sure he went into the coop. Stood around for about ten minutes because he was sleepy and didn't want to walk. He was like a massive (and pretty) slug. Eventually he made it up the ramp and was able to roost with his buds.We will see if he goes up the ramp by himself next time. Personally I think he will forget what he already learned, haha.![]()
Bronco, my other rooster has feathered in nicely but is still maturing. I can't tell if he is fully matured yet because he wouldn't dare try to crow or mount a hen with Marius around. Marius is boss and everyone, I mean everyone knows it. Bronco is about a quarter of the size of Marius right now so if Bronco got on the wrong side of Marius, lets just say it wouldn't end well.
Fall leaves are coming, the orange maple leaves match Marius.![]()
(Those are Japanese maple I believe.)
There. Are you happy now Mr. Impatient?![]()
Thanks for reading, sorry for such a long post.
