We were out today, and I didn't plan for dinner.

Ha! When I moved in with my SO he informed me that he wouldn't eat a "flat bean". I love beans, all kinds of beans. So I find myself examining beans trying to decide if they are flat or not. Apparently limas and butter beans are out; they're flat. However chili beans and pintos are okay? If you flatten a pinto with a spoon its just as flat as a butter bean.

Reminds me of when I lived in eastern NC for awhile. They call butter beans "limas" and lima beans "butter beans". I showed them what it says on the can, but it did no good. 'Course these are the same people that eat chittlins.

As I was on my own at home today, I did not have to cook for the family...so I just had beans on toast........ and enjoyed every mouthful..... the dishwasher had a day off also.....

There's a restaurant in Sharpsburg, NC called remarkably enough the Sharpsburg Restaurant that serves chitlins as their Monday night special. I couldn't go near the place on Monday nights, but people lined up at the door to get their share.
