And I'll check her crop in a little bit when I go back out to the barn... and I'll let you know.
ps. it does say on the packet that it's for treatment of respiratory infections... it doesn't say tetracycline... it says somehting beginning with a D.
It took me about 1/2 hr to figure out the dosage cause it was in mg vs teaspoons. But it ended up being about a tbls per gallon... and refreshed daily.

pss. she's not moaning now. good news. I'll keep her in ICU until I think she's okay to return. it's cold outside down feathers or not.

How many days should I give the meds?

Can we eat the eggs?

Read the part about Duramycin 10 caution: I believe it's either 5 or 7 days will have to look it up, but can't eat the eggs for 2 weeks after finished with antibiotic

Here is the info altho you will in my opinion be best served (to ensure the proper dosage and concentration) by calling the number given at the bottom of the page and asking a service representative (you want the 800 mg concentration) ... they are usually very helpful and will ensure you get the correct info for the smaller amount you need.

I am using just about 800 concentration. I do believe that it is important to maintain that concentration for all of the chickens. They are all full grown... or just about. I will read more about hte meds.

Appreciate the help and will throw out the eggs - or give them back to the chickens in scrabbled form.

And there wasn't anything in her crop. I think she's not been eating at all. I'll give her an oatmeal/yogurt mix in the morning.

Everyone seems fine this morning. Andy even the 'moaning' hen isn't. She's eating the yogurt/oatmeal mix and hopefully drinking the med/water. I'm keeping her in ICU for another day or two.
