Mobile Bird Nest

Will dehydrated do? Re-hydrated maybe?

The babies will need to be hydrated so you might soak the worms and make mushy out of them? Do you keep gamebirds if any kind...quail, turkeys, pheasants? I would imagine these babies need very high protein, gamebird starter might work, soaked and sloppy? I'm just guessing here. Its what I would feed. LOL

Maybe park it right where it was? The parents might be looking for them in the morning.
If you’re dedicated to handraising then I’d contact your nearest wildlife rescue for guidance. They might even be happy to take them off your hands. Growing them isn’t hard. It’s teaching them to GO, that can be a challenge.
For what it’s worth, My family has always used canned dog food watered down a bit and fed on a wooden popsicle stick snapped in half lengthwise.
They gobble it up and it’s much easier than worms!

The wildlife rehab told me to feed the babies dog food. That is what they feed. Either canned or soaked dry food will do. As to how often to feed, they will let you know when they are hungry. I have raised a lot of orphans this way. You only need to feed during daylight hours. That is what the parents do.

The vehicle is in heavy service. We use it almost daily. Meaning, while the eggs were laid and set in the nest, there must have been over 200 miles put on it during the period they were set to when they hatched. We are hauling a trailer with it the next 3 days as well. We live way out in rural territory, miles from point A to point B. They would never survive the wheel well traveling.
Currently the nest is propped up in the general location where the SUV gets parked. Up far from the ground to hopefully attract the parents. This morning were feeding a mushy wet all flock starter with a plunger that has a fat tip cut off. This is going to be challenging I'm sure.

An hour ago we passed off the nest to a neighbor whom breeds and raises exotic birds and such. She is better suited for this great responsibility. It was suggested by her as well when I asked her for advise. She said she would be happy to care for them having been successful many times in the past. What a relief on our end. I will check in on them from time to time but give her full credit for saving them of course.

Yay! I love a happy ending!
