Mobile Goose House

Why are you going with a mobile house?

Geese, if in a group, are much safer from predators than chickens.....

If your property has a perimeter fence, I would feel safe having them free range.

I have many predators.

But the one summer I had a free ranging flock of geese nothing bothered them.

Do you mean they don't have any sort of sleeping area and just sleep wherever? We want the mobile house because the chickens are in a mobile coop, so we want the geese to travel around with them. And though we considered just still putting them near the chickens during the day and having a stationary sleeping area at night that we take them to, we figured having some shelter from the sun and stuff during the day would be good, too.

We have a little bit of everything for predators around here. Probably the only things that would be most risky would be the coyotes and bobcats, unless foxes are threats to them, too.

We don't have a perimeter fence yet either, so that's why they just have a fenced-in area right now. We did have them free ranging during the day, but they like to sleep and poop on our front porch and also have started chasing after the mailmen (at least the one has). So we let them loose in the evening after the mail has come and just have to make sure they don't stray out to the road, lol.

We just have the two geese, too, if that makes any difference as far as safety in numbers goes.

Yes, without a perimeter fence, and only having 2 of them, they do then need more protection.

With 5 I locked mine up every night, but they ranged free during the day.

I think 5 was enough that they were then scary for at least some of the smaller predators. But I do not think that 2 would be safe.
