I really like that I can easily find Modesto Milling organic feed for my chickens, but I'm worried about the Grower/Starter crumbles being too dusty. It seems like the girls are eating it and thriving, but the feed is very dusty and they seem to try to pick out all the crumbly bits and leave a lot of the dust. I have one of those aluminum tank-type feeders suspended from a rafter in the coop, and the feed is so dusty that I have to go up there twice a day and push the feed out into the trough. Has anyone else had this problem with Modesto Milling feed? This is my first bag of it - is it maybe, hopefully, just a particularly dusty bag?

Same problem.
My chicks (about 3 months old) seem to like the old, non-organic, medicated starter/grower feed better.

Thanks for the feedback.
I might give them a try then.
I will be getting layer next time which I think will be pellet?
