If you cannot (or do not wish to) actually build a wood coop, have you considered a "hoop coop". There are some very imaginative ones out there. We made a tractor coop (although we don't pull it anywhere; just use it for young birds) out of PVC pipe, hardware cloth and an igloo dog house for the actual coop. The only "building" in terms of wood and nails involved the bottom frame to place the ends of the PVC pipe into.
