Sienna decided to hang back, to let Shadow work it out. "Come here, Ariel." She said.

"Mommy, he called me stoopid!: She cried indignantly.

"I don't know why, sweetie." Sienna answered her, wondering herself.

Bandit was in shock. The boy petted him gently, but it only made Bandit worse. The little colt's eyes were huge and his breath came out in rasps. He couldn't speak and a little sliver of drool hung from his open mouth.

Sienna moved between the boy and Bandit and gently nuzzled him.

Bandit lay still, quiet as death. He hardly dared to breath.
The boy shivered and backed away from Shadow toward the safety of the forest, but tripped and fell onto his backside.

Sienna turned and helped him up gently, and nuzzled him in thanks. She then pushed him off in the direction he should go.
