Flip reached the cougar first and, with a sharp blow to its skull with his front hooves, winded it for a split second. It stood there, dazed, but quickly regained its composure and tried to decide who to attack first; the injured foal, or these tough horses who had hurt him? He targeted the big dun-colored horse and raked Flip's sides with his huge claws.

"I think were about to find out." Twilight galloped closer and found that Levi was being attacked. Twilight whinnied and ran over to the injured mountain lion, kicking it with all her force and knocking it to the ground before it could deliver another blow to Flip.

Seaspray, however grudging she was, rose from the place she lay and galloped to the attack site. She herded Levi away from it, gritting her teeth.

Ivy knew nothing of the scene. She lay, lathered with sweat, in the Farther Pastures, thinking only of herself.

Flip stood back from the lion for a moment to catch his breath, then moved forward again and delivered a heavy kick to the cougar's spine.

Jet charged into the lion with his head lowered, sending it crashing into the ground before it could hit Flip again. He reared in the air and came down hard, his hooves crashing onto the lion

Dusty whinnied and stood on her hind legs before letting her forelimbs fall, hooves first, pounding hard onto the head of the lion, knocking it dizzy.

Twilght came up close to the almost dead Lion and turned around and kicked the lion with her strong legs, after that, it died.

Terry heard all the commotion and galloped over, he stopped when he saw Seaspray leading Levi away. "Are you ok?" He asked.

Flip stamped on it last, taking delight in hearing the skull crack. "It's done," he gasped. Licking his wounds, he lay to rest beside the fallen mountain lion.

Twilght breathed heavily over the dead Lions carcass, feeling better now that she had her revenge on the horrible animal for attacking the defensless foal.

Jet stood back from the dead lion, Jingo, Chrip, Hussar and Fritz close behind him
