Its the colored fish that get me. A 74% loss durning coloring is OK to the company doing it. They dip the fish in acid, then a dye bath, then a medicated bath to help with what the acid did to them. JElly bean and painted are bad words in the fish world.

some tropical fish are injected with coloring which i think are more harmful then dying a chick , but i'm neutral on the subject on chicks i respect others opinions if they respect mine,

I used to thing that "doggie clothes" were a silly affectation, until my neighbor adopted a scruffy little mutt

now that dog is not even as big as a bantam chicken .. what breed it is, I don't recognize, and I doubt that my neighbor knows either (the dog was dumped off near the road)

poor little thing has tiny feet, no fur or hair or feathers on feet, actually lost part of one leg due to frostbite ! ... and it shivered uncontrollably all the time in this damp 40* weather, until neighbor's wife knitted it thick sweaters with arms that go down to its "ankles"

dog loves to go outside, but really needs the clothes ...

I will no longer make fun of clothing on animals ... those that don't have their own natural warm fur -- feathers -- hair -- fleece -- you name it

(in my old age, I'm finding synthetic fleece to be a great energy-saver myself)

i agree i don't see anything wrong with it as long as it is nontoxic and not harming or painful to them.

there is nothing wrong with buying them clothes either. i have min pins and a weimaraner i do it for all 3 of them becuase it is to cold for them, they are not outside dogs. it is for their safety to keep them from getting sick. i also do it because they like it they would rather a t-shirt or coat than go out in freezeing snow or harsh rain to go to the bathroom and they love to be pampered. everyone has a right to their own oppinions. why start a thread and ask for it to be locked just cause others have different views? i see no reason to not talk about it it's a cival conversation.

I think coloring animals is unnecessary and frankly rather dumb. Aren't there better things to be doing with our time and resources?

When coloring is used to sell animals at Easter, I consider it is a low-grade "advertising" techinique to attract young consumers into a product that is more than they bargained for. In that sense, I do not have any respect for those who would promote it, nor do I have any hope for those parents who would allow such a purchase. It is ridiculous through and through.
