Moguses, anyone? 😂🤨

I just recalled today that when we were little, my brothers and I called silkies ‘moguses’ or ‘Moes’ for short. further, the roosters were ’tums’ and the hens were ‘flushes’. Chickens in general were referred to as ‘wormies’ (NOT because they were plagued with parasites; I couldn’t for the life of me tell you the real reason).

Does anyone else have silly names for their animals? Or are we just weird.

We called squirrels squirttles, snakes snacks I think it's cuz our parents would call them that as a joke but growing up then we thought that's actually what they're called

I defiantly had weird names for things when I was little
Chickens = boogins (hens) chippins (chicks) roosters (Mr man)
Snakes = sneaky sneck
Dolphins = bobolophophin (don’t ask can’t explain)

I would use it if I could pronounce it

From my children:

hand sanitizer = hanitizer. Makes total sense to me.
road kill = real, live, dead (fill in the blank). As in "Mom! I saw a real, live, dead turtle!"
to be indecisive = to squirrel. As in "quit squirreling and pick one"
airplane = ainee. My son's favorite word. yeah, I got nothing.
The Dog = "wonder poodle" the only dog, and therefore the smartest, best and most brilliant. As in, "wonder poodle is again wondrous" when he does all his business outside and comes in when directed, or quickly learns a new trick.

meat birds = dinner chicks or dinner chickens. aka NOT PETS

It makes so much sense, doesn't it? And so much easier to say! We kept that one, even after my daughter was old enough to correct herself.
