Moisturizer for Show

hallo! Does anyone have any suggestions for a moisturizer I can use on my chickens’ faces and legs? They have a show coming up on Tuesday, First if the year, and they seem to be really dry. Also, suggestions on removing old scales? Normally I pick them o ce they are ready to fall of, but I need to get all the little dry pieces. Thanks!

i use olive oil weekly to keep mine looking shiny and feeling moisturized

Could use just regular Vaseline or just a regular cooking oil like vegetable oil, olive oil, coconut oil, etc.

Yes! I use this mostly to clear them up, and notice they always look heathlier/not so dry afterwards! I hadn’t even though of that, thanks!

Thanks! I’ll have to see what oils I have. Since I don’t have that many going, I may do some testing on the ones not going to see what works best

I have never seen this on a bird without scaly leg mites...
...and have often wondered if and how often they shed and grow new leg scales.
