This is my first time raising chicks. I have two barred rocks that are now 13 days old. I've noticed for several days now that one has molasses breath. I've read about sour crop and the smell could be identified as "sour milk" but this little chick is quite robust and doesn't seem to be ailing at all. Anything to worry about? Also, any guesses on my new little chick I picked up today? I know so many chicks are yellow, but the sign said "White Rock" but the guy at the feed mill thought they may be leghorns. Her legs are tan, not orange. I'm hoping white rock. And a pullet....

I love this ridiculous Dr. Seuss tail:

Actually, we could smell it when we were just holding the chick and thought maybe it was something on it's head, in the feathers. But upon closer investigation.... yep, it's the chickie's breath.
