Moldy mulch help

I got a truck load of fresh mulch a week ago for my covered run and its now extremely moldy. If I take it all out? What do I replace it with? The ground below is all dirt. Help.

I am assume it is moldy. If the weather is hot, just let the sun dry it up. You could always get free woodchip deliver for free in your area. Sorry... I don't remember the website. I have sand run before and it very muddy after 4-5 years. My intend add more woodchip every few years or as need.

The sun doesn't really get in there too much. There is a mesh tarp and plants blocking it.

To be safe I'd take it out and replace with whatever else you can get, like pine shavings would be fine for time being. Did you put all the chips you had inside, or is there a pile somewhere? The chips really should be aired out and allowed to age for optimal safety.

Please post some good clear pics of the 'moldy mulch'.
How deep did you pile it in the run?

The stuff I get is from the local tree removal guys and it has some green leaves and pine needles so I would let it age for at least 6 months to a year before using it in a run.
