Molting and artificial lighting

I don't use artificial light in my coop so can't speak as to how that might extend their molting. It just seems that a few individual birds in my flock take longer than others. I have read that if you're going to use the light, you should have it come on earlier in the day rather than extending it into the evening.

There seems to be differences of opinion on cat food. If you use the Search box in the upper left to find posts about it, you can decide for yourself if it's something you want to do. There are other ways of providing a boost in protein like feeding them hard boiled or scrambled eggs. Here's a link to the treat chart that has been a big help for me:

Just like most other things, everyone seems to have slightly different ways of managing their birds and you'll figure out what works best for you.
