Molting Chicken still laying eggs

My hens had a slow molt last summer that started when they were about 16 months and laying slowed slightly. They are a sex-links type like your Black Star.
Up their feed protein to 18 to 20%. Is what I would do.
I started to feed an 18% layers feed, last October and will feed year round. My girls look better and their behavior is more sedate.
If you can't find a layers feed with higher Protein. Then get an All-Flock or Flock Raiser and offer Oyster Shell in a separate container. GC
