Ok, I have a hen who is molting, and unlike my others she seems to have lost most her feathers all at once.

I looked outside yesterday and saw her standing kind of strange so I went out and she was shivering, its in the high 30s so not really cold, but I am thinking she was cold so I have her in the bathroom where she seems to be eatting and drinking just fine. I fed her warm eggs, and gave her warm water. Is she really just cold? you think? or could she be sick? Thanks in advance.

I've got a few that are in a fairly heavy molt right now and we have single digit temps at night, and high teens during the day...mine aren't shivering, so I'd be a bit worried about your girl, but I guess it could be that she's just cold. I actually don't believe I've ever seen any of mine shivering. Your girl's on her way in getting her feathers back, which is good!

I think you've done the right thing by bringing her in so you can watch over her closely. BE VERY CAREFUL taking her back out, though; now that she's been indoors, she'll be acclimated to the indoor temps. and it'll be difficult to get her back outdoors; you may have to wait for it to warm up some.

Strange, maybe I should post this under the emergency ect. instead of here. However she is eatting, drinking and not likeing the box..... so I guess I will just watch her. Do you or anyone have any idea what would cause that? I have lost two seemily healthy chickens in the past couple of weeks, not sure why.... but they sure looked and acted healthy.
