Molting in January?

What are they thinking?? It's going to be in the single digits here this weekend.

I have a couple girls still molting, 2 are in a hard molt. I noticed if I give more BOSS they come out of it sooner. Just my observation on my birds. Their feathers seem to grow back faster. They still eat their feed.

I've got three molting (an EE, Speckled Sussex, and a White Rock)- 9 months old. In January, in New England! But they already have the new quill feathers coming in, so hopefully it will be pretty quick for them.

two of mine are moulting now too. It seems so against nature to do this in the middle of winter, don't you think?
