My girls are 8 months old. I had read that young hens don't molt, but Hazel, my Easter Egger is molting and looks quite ragged. Its getting cold here, below freezing at night. Should I be worried? This is my first winter as a chicken mom!
Any feedback would be appreciated.

They should huddle together and get warm. If you think they're cold you could always add some more bedding, bring them in a warmer shelter, or use some source of heating. I was worried about mine too the first year.

They'll be alright like Willowbranchfarm and Happychooks said. It's what they did in the wild..
