Goon 1, last seen in, “Help, my broody Muscovy hen has lost her marbles!”, is now populating the yard with white feathers. She’s had no trauma, there’s no drake, no one is picking on her, she looks just about the same, and she is acting entirely normally. Is it too early for molting, or does anyone else have molting Muscovies already? Her sister and Daphne are definitely not molting, but Goon 1 has always done her own thing at her own time. Her feathers are of a different type to those of her sister - think finer and fluffier, not unlike those long draping saddle feathers that roosters get, rather that the tight and neat rounded feathers that her sister has. Anyways, I’ll get updated pictures this afternoon, but I thought I’d check in here first!
