molting or...?

I think the topical absorbs into the blood stream as well. I just treated my chickens two days ago with the pour on and saw a worm in their poo this morning. Before that, I didn't see any worms. I was treating due to one having leg mites and their egg production is down now due to molting anyway.
My question is now that I have seen an actual worm (round worm, but only about a 1/2" long not as big as shown in this thread) should I treat with something else? Or just let the ivermectin do it's thing for now?
It's my understanding even if only applied topically, Ivermectin is absorbed into the bloodstream.
Since you are seeing roundworms, you can use something like Wazine that treats only roundworms. Valbazen and Fenbendazole can also be used to treat worms as well.

I read that ivermectin will treat round worms and some others, just not tape worms and another type that is escaping me without researching. Would the wormers you suggested tackle the other types of worms as well? I have not had a fecal done so not sure if they need more treatments.

Yes, given the proper dosage Valbazen and Safeguard treat other worms.
For tape worms, Praziquantel will work.

It would be a good idea to get a fecal float to i.d. which types of worms you are dealing with so you can treat accordingly.

I would use valbazen or safeguard in 10 days and then repeat in 10 days.

topical ivermectin will kill worms but not as well as oral(inject able)

I posted a link to a place that will do a fecal float for you.

Bearing in mind that a faecal float is not likely to pick up tape worm eggs as they are usually passed as larger segments and may not be seen due to the sampling/testing method.
So then just skip the fecal float and treat.
Fenbendazole (safeguard) at 0.23 ml per pound orally for 5 days in a row will treat "most" worms".

Thank you.
