Hi, I'm in north east louisiana. my chickens started molting around Thanksgiving time and still all of them are not fully recovered. They are rather young, being 1 year old this february. One of them has it hard i guess. She has lost feather from her tail and around tail area (in the picture). I see the feather root there but nothing is coming out and also the skin around her tail is reddish but no other abnormalities. I have checked for fleas or lice, they don't have either. I'm providing feather fixer in addition to their regular layer feed. I feed them mealworms in moderation, kitchen scraps of fish. Almost all of them took a break from laying in the beginning of january. Now they have started laying regularly again. Some ragained the feathers quickly. My concern is, is it normal to start molt that early and for that long? What else can I do to ease her stress? Thank you all for any advice or guidelines.

That looks more like breeding or feather eating from others
There's no pecking problem. Some other chickens higher in order will sometimes give a nudge on the head but other than that, nothing. I have rooster which keeps the chickens in order and none of the chickens or rooster is aggressive.
Not sure about breeding though. I got her from a local farmer.
