Molting question

Welcome to BYC! I'm glad you joined us! It does sound like your hen is molting; that is common in chickens of that age at this time of year.

Chicago weather has really been nasty this year with the snow, and zero and below temps, and major low wind chill - maybe she could use a sweater. No joke some people have made them for molting birds. The birds seem to enjoy it and they get to grow back feathers without being pecked at.
