Molting silkies?

When A silkie molts, does it's crest get smaller and kindof ragedy? Cuz when I bought my silkies they both had really nice crests but lately one of them has a nasty looking crest!! Haha I hope that is all it is!!

I have a silkie rooster and when he molts he gets an ugly crest. I think of it as a chickens bad hair day, only its never just a day.

The crest will grow back.
